Before an EPC is issued a site visit will be arranged to suit the client and one of our Assessors will travel to your property. The inspection should take between 45 minutes and 1 hour and will cause the minimum of disruption. The only important factor to be aware of is that our Assessor will need to have access to the loft space and your boiler.
An internal and external inspection of the property is carried out for the purpose of producing the EPC.

The following will be performed during the survey visit:

• Note the construction of walls
• Measure roof insulation
• Confirm proportion of window double-glazing
• Count the number of open fireplaces
• Establish make and model of boiler under EU SEDBUK regulations.
• Establish renewable sources of energy devices such as solar panels
• Confirm proportion of low energy lightbulbs
• Confirm the type of heating system used e.g. radiators or underfloor heating
• Categorise the type of material used to insulate hot water cylinder
• Check for excessive window area where applicable and take measurements of conservatories and extensions
• Confirm how many and nature of habitable rooms that are heated.
